As a Center steeped in research that seeks to influence policy and social change, CUE’s faculty, students and affiliates are frequently reading, writing and engaging in dialogue to develop products. Our intention is to enhance and build on existing scholarship, while developing and disseminating new concepts, ideas and practices in education.
Current and future areas of study include teacher preparation, culturally relevant teaching, classroom management, learning and achievement in the STEM subject areas, chronic student absenteeism, parent and community connections, and school leadership and reform.
The Center for Urban Education is proud of the literature, resources and practical tools it produces. As the Center continues to grow and expand, we continually seek to make a discernible contribution to the field of urban education, approaching research with a holistic, student-centered perspective.
